Varicose Veins and Spider Vein Treatments:
Treatments cost $200 to $400
Until now, treating varicose and spider veins was a lengthy and often painful process involving needles and other invasive treatments. Now, using the new laser technology of the Candela Vbeam Laser, unsightly spider veins and superficial varicose leg veins can be treated - simply, non invasively, and successfully.
Vbeam laser treatment, also called pulsed dye laser treatment, is used for many skin problems such as rosacea, spider veins, acne and red acne scars. The Vbeam targets broken capillaries to erase redness. Unlike other laser treatments, the Vbeam does not remove a layer of skin, so recovery takes less time.
Bruising can be completely avoided with the Vbeam, but if it does occur, it will be at its worst within the first couple of days after treatment. There are no long-term effects of bruising, which tends to clear up within three to 10 days.
After Care
We recommend arnica cream to be applied as directed by your provider to protect the treated skin. This will also help speed up the healing process. Using sunscreen is recommended to reduce the chances of skin pigmentation changes.
Showers are permitted, but gently pat the area dry. Do not rub with a towel or washcloth as the area is extremely delicate while the bruising / red discoloration (purpura) is present. If the legs are treated, avoid taking a bath the first 48 hours as the intense heat may cause additional discomfort. Comfortably warm showers are recommended.
Arnica cream is available for purchase in our office.

Precautions to Take Following Your Laser Treatment
- Do not rub, scratch, or pick at the treated area if bruising/red discoloration (purpura) is present.
- Please call the office immediately if the area becomes tender, reddened or shows signs of infection.
- Avoid swimming, contact sports and hot tubs while redness or irritation subsides.
- Avoid rubbing or pressure (caused by clothing) on the treated areas. Wear loose-fitting clothing if your treated area is on a non- exposed area of the body.
- Avoid exposure to the sun. If sun exposure is expected, apply an SPF 30 or higher sunscreen to prevent pigmentation changes until the lesion is healed.
- Avoid contact sports during healing if any scabbing or crusting is present to prevent injury to the treated area.
